A gut-friendly take on hummus. Legume-free and low-carb, this creamy dip is Paleo and Whole30-friendly, with an AIP option. It pairs beautifully with a colorful veggie platter.
Beans, beans, the musical fruit… you probably know the song.
Shoutout to my dad for teaching me such quality music as a child :)
Alright, so hummus. The grandfather of dips, traditionally made with a base of chickpeas. Unfortunately for some lovely people, legumes can cause digestive distress, gas, bloating, etc… (hence the dad song).
I personally believe in a life lived without needing to excuse yourself outside to go ‘look at the moon’ after enjoying some hummus… especially if you’re on a date, ya feel me?
(this is a legit story from one of my wellness mentoring clients.. (shared with permission) and she’ll happily tell you that after working together this is no longer the case!)
So today I’m sharing with you the very recipe that I gave to her, the recipe that I’ve been making in my own kitchen for many years, and have passed on to friends and clients alike, I get asked for it often!
As always, I set out to create a recipe alternative that was still deliciously creamy and flavourful, but free-from some of the traditional ingredients that may be problematic for some.
This Gut-Friendly Bean-Free Hummus is suitable for anyone who loves a savory dip, especially those looking for a nutrient-dense, paleo, low-carb or Whole30-friendly recipe.
Bonus points that it’ll help you eat more veggies, and potentially help your dating life too!
