If you can get a task done in 5 minutes or less, take action now, don’t put it off for later.
(ex. Open an email that needs a quick response? Respond now).
Not only is this more efficient, it takes the burden off your mental load to prevent more overwhelm/avoidance.
JUST ONE STEP
Vice versa if you’re lacking motivation or daunted by a certain task, set yourself a timer to work on it for just 5 mins.
Oftentimes the momentum will motivate you to finish, or at least make a dent in it.
If not, you’ve made five mins of progress which is more than zero.
